Sharing is caring!

This is a 2012 MWB VW Crafter TDI with a manual 6-speed transmission. It has driven 154,600 miles. We have taken very good care of our van, and it has a complete service history. The last service was done on November 30, 2020.

We have all the necessary paperwork, which is current and correct. The van comes with a 12-month warranty that we got when we bought it. This warranty can be given to the new owner.

The van has had three previous owners. It comes with two sets of keys and has a valid inspection that lasts until December 2021. We have done a lot of work on our van over its life, which I will explain below.

In the last six months, we replaced many parts of the van including the dual mass flywheel, the clutch, the cam belt, the water pump, the idlers, the tensioner, the vacuum pump, the front tie rods, and the front brake discs and pads.

We also have many receipts from 2014 that show other repairs we have done.

This van has many great features like a rear parking camera, a multimedia unit with satellite navigation, Bluetooth, a rhino roof rack with a roof deck, a custom-made rear ladder, and a 42-inch light bar.

The inside of the van is nearly perfect with no tears in the seats and very little wear. Overall, this van has been well-kept, is in good condition, and is ready for new adventures!

Meet Eartha, our stylish tiny home on wheels. Eartha is our fourth project, inspired by our trips across Europe. We blended the natural, earthy colors of the wild with a simple Dutch design.

Eartha is completely off the grid and ready for some amazing adventures. Here’s a summary of what we did to convert our van.

Van Base: We started by fixing any rust and other small issues on the van. Next, we added soundproofing and insulation to keep it warm. This included special materials like dodo dead Matt, celotex, and a space thermal blanket that we’ve tested ourselves.

We covered the insulation with a reflective barrier to prevent moisture buildup. The van has special blinds on all windows to keep heat in, and the walls are covered with tough, painted wood that’s easy to clean.

Kitchen: We built the kitchen by hand using lightweight pine wood. The cabinets are a soft purple-gray and have a shaker style, which you’ll see throughout the van. The countertops look like concrete but are made from a durable laminate that’s easy to clean.

There’s plenty of room for cooking and everyday tasks. We installed a black glass 2-burner stove and a big steel sink. The kitchen has three adjustable lights with a dimmer to change the brightness. We put in a 12v fridge big enough for all your food and a power outlet for using kitchen appliances.

At the end of the kitchen, there’s a tall cupboard for our clothes, with a mirror on the door and a small toilet at the bottom. Next to this cupboard, we added an outdoor shower near the rear door. The shower has curtains for privacy, which you can hang up on the door hooks.

Additional Benefits:

  • Bins for trash and recycling built right in
  • Handmade Italian tiles for decoration
  • Plenty of storage space in cupboards

Living Area/Bed: We learned from our past experiences that being comfortable and having useful features is very important. So, we chose a corner sofa because it’s comfy and practical. We installed three windows that open on the side and a roof vent to let in lots of natural light.

This setup is great for enjoying the view while drinking our morning coffee and having space to hang out with friends. The sofa cushions are made from memory foam and have soft, washable covers.

The sofa is not just for sitting; it also pulls out into a large bed that can sleep two tall adults, and there’s space for one more person underneath. There’s lots of storage space under the cushions for bedding and other items. One storage area opens like a chest, and another has sliding doors.

Across from the sofa, there’s a spot for water storage. It can hold 50 liters of fresh water and 25 liters of waste water. The fresh water is in two 25-liter tanks that are easy to fill up from any water source. We keep the water pump, water filter, and other equipment under the sink.

At the end of the bed, we installed a powerful diesel heater to keep the van warm in winter. We also put in a surround sound system that works with Bluetooth so you can listen to your music on the road!

Electrics: We designed an electrical system that’s simple to use and needs little upkeep. It’s great for off-grid travel, so you rarely need to plug into a city power source. This is perfect for anyone wanting to explore nature and get away from city life.
