He started learning how to build wooden boats, and now he has been living on the water for six years. His home is a small, floating house named Pax, which Jason and Cayley fixed up. They spent a year and a half making it beautiful again.
Pax was one of 25 boats made in Victoria, Canada for Expo ’86, but it was old and broken. Jason and Cayley, who are very good at woodworking, turned it into a lovely one-bedroom house on the water.

The houseboat has some cool features. It has a bathroom with a composting toilet and a big bathtub made from a livestock trough.
There’s also a place to look at maps, a bright kitchen, a wooden dining area that curves, stairs that store things, comfy lofts for sleeping and hanging out that connect by a walkway, and a ladder that goes up to a rooftop deck.

This home is great for people who want to live on the water. It’s in Sailor’s Cove marina, which is very quiet. It has one bedroom, one bathroom, and is 28 feet long.

A professional carpenter and shipwright have updated it nicely. The kitchen is open and has a gas stove, oven, fridge, freezer, and lots of counter space.

You can eat at the pretty, curved wooden table. Upstairs, there’s a peaceful place to sleep and a spot to relax. You can go up some steps to a rooftop deck and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean. It feels like a break from daily stress.

The house is designed to be easy to use and has lots of places to store things. It comes with a parking spot and access to the marina’s showers, bathrooms, laundry, and secure bike storage. It’s close to shops and the pretty West Bay Walkway is just steps away.
The boat is for sale for $289,000. You can see the listing for the boat at www.realtor.ca
