Our Van Conversion Summary
Van Preparation
First, we fixed any rust and smoothed out the van’s surface. Next, we added layers of special materials to keep the van quiet and warm. These materials include a thick pad, insulation board, and a special blanket that keeps heat in.

We also covered everything with a shiny barrier to stop water from building up inside. For the windows, we put up special blinds that help keep the heat inside. Finally, we covered the walls with strong wood panels that are easy to clean.

Kitchen
We built the kitchen from scratch using light wood to make it look good and work well. The cabinets are gray and have a simple design that you can see throughout the van. We chose a work surface that looks like concrete because it’s strong and easy to clean.
The kitchen has plenty of room for cooking. We added a black stove and a deep sink for daily use. The kitchen is well-lit with adjustable lights that can be dimmed. We put in a small fridge and a special outlet for using kitchen appliances.
At one end, there’s a big cupboard for clothes and a space for our unique toilet. Next to the cupboard, there’s an outdoor shower hooked up to use from the back of the van.

Living Area and Bed
We made sure our living area was both useful and comfy. We chose a corner sofa with windows and a roof vent to bring in lots of natural light and provide great views. The sofa has soft cushions and turns into a double bed big enough for two adults, with extra space underneath.
There’s also lots of storage under the sofa for bedding and other items. Across from the sofa, there’s a space for storing water and the equipment needed to use it. At the end of the bed, we installed a powerful heater to keep the van warm on cold nights.

Electrical Setup
Our van has a simple and easy-to-use electrical system that doesn’t need much care. We designed it to work well when traveling away from cities, so you don’t have to plug it into a regular electricity source very often.
This is great for those who want to explore nature and get away from busy life. Here’s what we’ve included in our electrical setup:
- A special battery charger
- A controller for charging from the sun
- A 2000-watt power converter with a safety switch
- Two solar panels, each 150 watts
- A panel for safety fuses
- A hookup for city power
- A main control unit for electricity
- A power cable
- Two power outlets
- Two main wall sockets
- Three double USB charging ports
- Two cigarette lighter sockets
- A custom switchboard
- Three touch panels for adjusting light brightness
- A voltage meter
- Eight ceiling lights that you can dim
- Four spotlights that you can move
- Two large rechargeable batteries

Van Details
We bought a 2015 medium-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van six months ago. It has a manual six-speed transmission and 113,375 miles on it. The van is in excellent shape because we’ve taken good care of it.
It has a complete service history with the last service done on November 24, 2020. The van has had two previous owners, comes with two keys, and its inspection is good until June 2021.

Some of its special features include cruise control, a rear parking camera, Bluetooth, a strong roof rack with a deck, a custom ladder, and a big light bar on the roof.
In the last six months, we’ve replaced the clutch, flywheel, tie rods, two tires, brake discs, pads, and wipers. The driver’s area is very clean, with no tears in the seats and hardly any signs of wear.
This van is well-maintained, in good condition, and ready for adventures!
