The Häuslein Tiny House Company makes high-quality tiny houses and is located in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia, between Sydney and Brisbane. Four friends started the company in 2018. They wanted to create a better and more sustainable way to live in Australia.

The name “Häuslein” is a German word that means a small home with a big heart. It shows their German roots and their respect for German quality engineering.

How to Use This Tiny House

For Students

Students usually have less money but want their own space. The Little Sojourner is affordable and easy to move. It weighs 3.5 tons, so many 4WD vehicles can tow it.

As a Full-Time Home

The Sojourner is perfect for living in full-time. It has all the modern comforts you need and you can move it whenever you want—no need for a 30-year mortgage.

For Family or Guest Accommodation

If you need a simple and less expensive space like a granny flat, the Little Sojourner is great. It has everything you need. If you park it behind your house, it can be used full-time without needing special permission from the city. Check our FAQs for more information about city rules.

As an Office Space or Studio

You can make the Little Sojourner simpler and cheaper if you’re using it as an office or studio. You might not need a full kitchen. The inside can be changed to make more room for work and creativity.

As a Mobile Home

This model is smaller and perfect for moving around often. You can travel around Australia with it if you like.

Chassis & Dimensions

• Our tiny houses are easy to move and can be officially registered for the road. Each one comes with a blue slip and a unique VIN number.
• They are built on a strong, rust-resistant 7.5m x 2.5m trailer.
• The house uses high-quality Al-Ko axles.

• Dimensions of the house are 6m long, 2.5m wide, and 4.3m tall.
• It weighs 3.5 tons, so many 4WD vehicles can tow it.
• The living space inside is 20 square meters.

Building Materials

• The frame is made of termite-resistant timber.
• The outside is covered with Trimdeck, monument matt finish colorbond, and western red cedar for a special touch.
• Windows are made of durable aluminum with toughened glass. Smart glass is an option.

• All windows have flyscreens.
• It’s well insulated with Earth wool and silver sarking (R2+).
• Inside walls are lined with solid pine paneling.
• The front door is aluminum and glass with a traditional key lock.

• Floors and countertops are made of beautiful and strong cypress pine.
• Upstairs has comfortable carpeting.
• The kitchen and bathroom cabinets are made of solid Rhino Ply—no cheap materials!

Kitchen

• The kitchen is two-sided with lots of storage space.
• There’s a comfy breakfast bar and plenty of counter space.
• It includes a large sink with a high tap and a smart in-sink drainer.
• You can choose between a drawer dishwasher or a full-size oven.

• There’s a 2-burner gas stove.
• There’s room for a full-size fridge (300-450L).
• The fixtures are modern and black.
• LED lights add a special touch.
• Shelves are solid Cypress Pine.

Bathroom/Laundry

• We have a traditional flush toilet that connects directly to your septic system. A composting toilet is also available.
• The shower is a full-size corner unit with a custom rod and high-quality curtain. We chose a curtain instead of glass to keep the space open and prevent bumps.

• The vanity has a ceramic basin, with a Cypress Pine basin as an option.
• All fixtures are high-quality and modern black.
• There’s a powerful extraction fan to keep the air fresh.
• We provide shelving for towels.

• There’s space for a full-size front-loading washing machine or a washer/dryer set at hip height.
• The bench space is generous and made of solid Cypress Pine.

• There’s a large wardrobe cupboard with space for a full-size washing basket and plenty of hanging space. It can have a laundry chute from the upstairs bedroom.
• Four large drawers offer extra storage for clothes or bathroom and laundry items.

Bedroom

• A solid Cypress Pine ladder leads up to a loft space.
• There’s room for a queen-size mattress.
• Additional shelving or custom cupboards are available.

Living/Lounge

• The area fits a full-size 3-seater couch or a sofa bed.
• There’s space for a large wall-mounted TV.
• A solid Cypress Pine bookshelf is included.
• There’s also space for a coffee table or a multi-purpose table.

Electrical, Plumbing & Gas

• The house has a Dux instant gas hot water system.
• Light dimmers for mood lighting and LED accent lights are installed.
• An outdoor light welcomes you home.
• Black slimline powerpoints feature USB plugs in the kitchen.

• The electrical system is simple, just like a caravan, with a 240v plug-in.
• A garden hose fitting lets you connect the tiny house to a water supply.
• Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed for safety.
