She has a custom-made kitchen unit that’s painted in a soft Dusky Pink color. It includes a 3-ring gas stove that’s portable, so you can even cook outside. It’s new and comes with its box and instructions. You just need to add a gas bottle in the cupboard below to start cooking.
Rainbow, the van, is equipped with a 25-liter water tank and a 10-liter tank for waste water. It has a USB-powered pump that moves water to the 33cm stainless steel sink. There’s also a 25-liter cooler stored in the kitchen that connects to the van’s electrical system.
This system also powers four USB charging sockets by the bed and two more inside the kitchen cupboards for charging various devices. There’s even a socket for plugging in a fridge.
The van features handmade curtains on the side windows and the back doors, plus lined curtains that separate the driving area from the back. This is great for privacy or quickly moving to the driver’s seat in an emergency.
The bedside cabinet discreetly houses a portable toilet, handy when there are no restrooms close by. The double bed comes with a comfortable, gently used mattress.
There’s extra storage under the bed for things like the versatile IKEA Kallax boxes, which are great for organizing and personalizing your space.
The van is tall inside, so most people can stand up straight without having to stoop—perfect for making tea comfortably! I’m 5 feet 10 inches tall and still have plenty of space overhead.
The ‘garage’ area at the back includes a step for easy entry and lots of storage for things like outdoor chairs and a barbecue. There’s even space for a spare tire and a jack, tucked away under the driver’s seat and at the back of the van.
Rainbow is well-insulated and stays warm and cozy. It has spray foam in the beams, a layer of thermal foil around the entire van, and then it’s all covered with 6mm plywood. It’s especially comfortable at night and doesn’t get damp or have condensation issues.
There’s a roof vent above the bedroom area that’s powered by the van’s electric system. It’s a two-way fan that can either pull warm air out or bring fresh air in. It also opens up to make a nice skylight window.
Plus, there are two sliding windows—one on the side door and another behind the sink—so there’s plenty of air flow even when the doors are closed.
Rainbow is looking for a new owner and is available to see if you’re interested. I’m arranging viewings that keep everyone safe, starting August 1st, once I finish a few touch-ups.
