Alek built this 8’×20’x13.4′ tiny house on wheels in 2013 for $30,000. At that time, most tiny houses had a traditional Tumbleweed style, but Alek wanted his to look more modern and feel open.
He managed to design a smart layout packed with practical features and creative places to store things, especially in his great kitchen.
Alek, who works online, needed a good office space at home. He set up a large desk by a big window to bring in lots of sunlight, making it feel less cramped. He also has a fold-down desk for standing and a hanging organizer that keeps his office supplies and cables neat and out of the way.
After living in his tiny house for three and a half years, Alek and Lee sold everything and moved to New Zealand. Living in a small space taught Alek valuable lessons that changed his outlook on life. He believes that simplifying your space and belongings can make anyone happier.
Alek says, “When you have to cut down on your stuff, you start to think about what’s really important in life and how you can make changes to be happier.”
