Our Little House is just a short walk from some of Seattle’s best coffee shops, restaurants, markets, and stores. Originally a garage, we fully renovated it in 2013. It’s located behind our main house and shares a courtyard with outdoor seating and a BBQ grill.
The house is 363 square feet and has a sleeping loft that you reach with a ladder like on a ship. Guests enter through a separate gate at the end of our driveway, which leads to the courtyard.
The house is quiet and cozy, equipped with a kitchen, a small fridge, a living area, and a bathroom. The queen-sized bed was added in September 2016.
Benjamin first fell in love with loft-style living at age 9 during a family vacation in a cabin. We originally built this as a guest house for family and friends, and sometimes used it as a home office.
Now, we’ve opened it up to travelers who want to explore Seattle, especially our neighborhood of Ballard.
Guest Access
Guests have their own private house and can enjoy an outdoor living area with a courtyard, a gas grill, and outdoor seating.
Interaction with Guests
You can reach us through the Airbnb messaging system before and during your stay. We’re here to answer questions and help make your stay smooth. We might say a quick hello if we see you around, but we let you decide how much you want to interact with us.
Other Things to Note
We love lofts and books, so we created a free little library for our guests. Feel free to take a book that interests you. The library has travel guides and maps too, but please leave those in the house for others to use.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook, like pots, pans, and basics. We also provide bottled water, coffee, tea, and breakfast cereals. For those who like games, we have backgammon, chess, and cards.
Please note, the house has a 19-gallon water heater. Hot water for showers lasts about 7-10 minutes and takes 10-20 minutes to refill. Keep this in mind to plan your showers.
