The Noyer was designed together with a client from California. It’s different from our other houses in several ways, like the angle of the roof and how the bedrooms are arranged.
This house works well in both California’s weather and colder places like Quebec. It’s made for one or two people to live in all the time.
Inside the Noyer
The inside of the Noyer feels like a small apartment. The way we arranged everything makes it seem like there are different rooms, even though it’s an open space.
The house looks cozy because we used various colors of wood and other materials. You can see in the pictures that wood is a big part of the house’s charm!
Outside the Noyer
We used a mix of charcoal-colored steel and brown-dyed cedar wood for the outside. This mix is new for us, and we chose it with the client to make the house look unique.
The roof is sloped differently than our other tiny homes, which makes the house look more dynamic and gives more space in the loft bedroom.
Living Room
The living area in the Noyer is really special. It’s raised up from the rest of the house, and you step up into it. This makes it feel like it’s a separate room even though it’s not closed off.
Bedroom
The bedroom in the Noyer is up in the loft. You get there by climbing a staircase that also has storage. There’s a queen-sized bed with tables on both sides. This room is designed so you can sit up comfortably in bed without bumping your head.
Bathroom
The bathroom is right under the bedroom. It might be small, but it has everything you need. There’s a big shower with glass doors, a special vanity, a composting toilet, and a washer-dryer all in one.
