We’re the Remingtons, and we live in a tiny house. Caleb and I grew up just 15 minutes apart but met here in California through a friend.
Caleb has cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. When I was one, doctors said I’d only live to 19. But each time I reached that age, the life expectancy increased.

It was 29 when I was 19, and now it’s 37. Having Caleb in my life has brought so much new energy and light. It’s changed my life for the better. We fell in love, got engaged in Hawaii, and then had a huge charity gala and benefit concert instead of a traditional wedding.

Our tiny home is about 300 square feet. We’ve lived here for just over a year. We bought it for $20,000 and spent another $10,000 fixing it up. Our first goal was to make it feel more open and spacious. That’s when Tiff really used her design skills to make it feel like home.

At first, we had no idea how to live in a tiny space or even how to use basic tools. But we learned along the way. Now, we dream of moving into a container home within the next three to five years.

Living in such a small space has its challenges but it has brought us closer. It’s improved our communication and allowed for more intimacy, which might be harder in a larger space. This lifestyle has helped us grow both individually and as a couple.

We love our tiny house life! It’s shown us a whole new way of living.
