25′ Blue bird bus conversion feels more like a home than a bus

Sharing is caring!

In 2016, we started a big project to turn a 25-foot Blue Bird Bus into our tiny home. The whole process took about 2 years, from tearing out the old parts to planning the layout, fixing the bus, and finally building it out.

It took a lot of patience, hard work, and many changes along the way, but we are so happy with the result! We are very thankful for all the people who helped us and everything we learned during the project.

For us, home isn’t just a place. Home is being together. From the start of our marriage, we’ve focused on caring for each other’s hearts, and that’s what makes anywhere we are feel like home.

Welcome to our tiny home tour! Our home is a 1996 Blue Bird bus named “Birdie,” which we renovated with the help of many skilled people. We fixed up the outside, raised the roof by 12 inches, and installed new windows to let in more light and keep the heat and cold out.

Inside, our bus is about 185 square feet. Our bus has everything we need. It includes a kitchen, a couch with storage, a dining table, and a coffee station.

We also have a bathroom with a composting toilet and sink, a wardrobe, and a bed with storage underneath. The bus feels more like a small apartment than a bus, and we are thankful for how roomy it is. We hope you like seeing our space.
