Gary and Kahla met while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and then moved into a cool tiny home they built themselves. Because they sometimes live out of backpacks, they realized they didn’t need a lot of stuff to be happy and have adventures.

After their hike, they decided to settle down in Durango. Gary, who had a lot of hiking experience, found it easy to choose a simpler life. Their dog, Copper, was happy with the decision too, so they went ahead with their plan.

Gary was ready to start his career in freelance graphic design. He knew living in the tiny home would help him pursue this career and travel wherever he wanted. This decision came at a perfect time, and it led him to leave his previous job.
