A professional snowboarder built a fantastic DIY Cobb house using natural and recycled materials. She used a mix called cob, made of sand, clay, and straw, and reclaimed materials like cedar siding, ceramic tiles, and second-hand windows. The house is cozy and functional, even though it’s less than four hundred square feet.
She has lived in this tiny home for four years. By choosing natural materials for the main floor and recycled items for the upper floor, she made her home environmentally friendly.

She also used second-hand windows and other materials that were either used before or about to be thrown away, helping to lessen her home’s environmental impact.

To heat her home, she uses a wood stove that’s tightly sealed. She also has electric heat as a backup when she’s away for a long time. For water and waste, her house is connected to a well and a septic system.

Right now, she uses propane for her stove and hot water heater. However, she’s started using a system that makes methane gas from food waste. She hopes to use this homemade gas instead of propane in the future.

Her tiny cob house is connected to the electric grid, but she also has a small set of solar panels. These panels help provide renewable energy to the grid.
