I’m standing in front of the Sunset Beach water tower, which is actually in Seal Beach, California. Even though it’s called the Sunset Beach water tower, it’s a bit confusing! People often ask why we’re filming a show about a water tower.
Well, back in 1985, they planned to take down the water tower since trains had stopped running and it wasn’t being used. But the people of Sunset Beach loved this water tower. It was one of the first big landmarks in Southern California.

So, in 1986, two college teachers turned it into a house. Nothing much changed in the tower until 2017, when Scott Auslan and his partner bought it. They fixed it up to bring back its old charm.

I hope you liked learning about the water tower today. If I could spend a day anywhere, it would be right here at the tower, enjoying some of the best views in Southern California.
