When you first see this log home, it really stands out. The beams and posts weave together to create a beautiful look that anyone who loves log cabins will enjoy.
This cabin looks a bit different from the typical American log home because it’s in Ruovesi, Finland.
In Finland, they build cabins a bit differently than what we’re used to.
The cabin is called Pyykkiranta and you can rent it for vacations through a service called Mökkiavain.
It’s only about 22 miles away from the large Helvetinjärvi National Park. It’s right next to Lake Näsijärvi, which is a perfect spot for fishing.
Although the cabin is cozy at just 355 square feet, it has everything you need for a great lake vacation.
When you walk into the cabin, you’ll see it has a big, open space that warms up quickly.
The large windows go almost from the floor to the ceiling, giving you a great view of the lake all the time.
From the loft above, you can look down and see how the sunlight fills the room.
The log walls have a nice, rustic look.
The main floor is all one open space that includes the living room, dining area, and kitchen.
There’s a stone fireplace with a wood-burning fire that keeps the cabin warm and cozy.
The dining table is right next to the kitchen and by a big window. You can look out at the lake while you eat your breakfast.
It’s really nice!
The loft above the living room is big and open. It’s used as a bedroom and a master suite.
The loft takes up the whole area of the cabin, so it’s a large room. It has beautiful rustic features like a red-brick chimney and exposed logs.
The big walk-in shower is right next to a relaxing sauna. Every Finnish log cabin has a steam room—it’s a big part of Scandinavian culture.
The cabin has a mud room at the entrance. This room is great for leaving dirt from outside, so you keep the cabin clean.
The cabin has a nice little pier that goes out into Lake Näsijärvi. You can fish, swim, or go boating there.
