When a couple decided to travel across Canada to Alaska, they wanted to make sure they were comfortable and warm.
They chose to turn a 40-foot long 2002 International school bus into their new home.
They designed it just the way they liked it.
Their new home had everything they needed. It had a big, open kitchen where Adam could cook, a large living area for having friends over, and a small bathroom.
This setup left plenty of room for a big, comfy bed. Since their trip was special, they knew they needed a one-of-a-kind bus to travel in.
When they took all the seats out of the school bus, it was surprising to see how much space there was to use.
Their effort changed the bus completely. The warm honey-colored wood and the clean white cupboard doors make the room feel welcoming.
The light-colored cushions set a perfect scene for the bright patterns on the pillows.
Plants are all around, making the small space feel alive.
The inside door of the bus was made from wood that is 160 years old. Emily got this wood from her grandfather’s barn.
Emily is an artist, and she used a torch on the wood to make the color deeper.
She also added a special pattern to the door.
Emily’s beautifully torched door is now the main attraction in the room. The kitchen walls have a herringbone pattern that adds charm.
The floor is covered with waterproof vinyl planks. This is a smart choice to prevent water damage, and the golden color of the floor makes all the decorations stand out.
Let’s take a closer look at the live edge pine countertop. Its natural shape and warm color make it both pretty and useful.
Emily and Adam found these lovely pillowcases at a thrift store during one of their trips.
Imagine standing on a stunning mountain peak in British Columbia where time seems to stop.
Traveling across Canada might bring some chilly nights, but thinking of this cozy kitchen can warm anyone up.
Adam made a large butcher block countertop that gives him lots of space to prepare vegetables for a comforting stew.
Is there anything better than hiking in the mountains all day and then coming back to a hot shower under a beautiful tin ceiling?
This stylish ceiling adds a touch of old-time charm to the small space.
After a warm dinner and a hot shower, it’s hard to stay awake. The queen-sized bed is so inviting, it’s impossible to resist.
The best part of any adventure is enjoying the journey. That’s exactly what Adam and Emily are doing as they look at the views from the rooftop deck of their bus.
They show that you can travel the world and see new places without ever leaving home.
