For those who want to enjoy nature comfortably, Repère Boréal is a special place in Quebec, Canada.
It has several unique buildings and small chalets, and is located in the Charlevoix region.
The place is managed by two brothers who are continuing their father’s dream of blending business with caring for the environment.
The most special part of this retreat is the Utapi cottage. “Utapi” means “roots” in the language of the Innu, the original people of the Charlevoix area.
This cottage has plenty of room to sleep, a complete kitchen, and even a treehouse inside.
Outside, there’s a big terrace that is painted ash gray to match the walls.
Inside, there’s a small closet where you can hang coats and put muddy shoes.
The house has beautiful woodwork around the windows and a lot of glass to let in light and provide views.
The floors are a dark espresso color, which looks nice against the white walls.
The big, open kitchen has everything you need: a dishwasher, an oven, a stove with a range, and a big refrigerator.
The cabinets are made of wood with a dark cherry color and simple white knobs, giving the kitchen a stylish, rustic look.
There’s also a large sink with a tall stainless steel faucet. Other kitchen items include a toaster and a coffee maker.
The dining room has ceilings with visible beams and is lit by two large industrial-style hanging lights.
There’s a big table with seats for seven people in stylish chairs shaped like eggs.
The table faces a large window, making it a great spot to eat while looking outside.
Next to the dining area on the left, there’s a cozy space with a sofa facing a wood-stove fireplace.
This area has built-in storage spaces where extra firewood is kept, which helps keep the room warm during cold months.
The space feels more open because you can see the loft area above.
The loft bedroom in the cabin has hardwood floors that continue up to the ceiling.
There is a queen-sized bed, and opposite it, a sofa bed where two more people can sleep.
The bed and the matching end tables are made of wood and iron with hand-crafted details.
There’s also an indoor treehouse where one guest can sleep, located above a spacious futon.
The treehouse is supported by birch logs and has vertical board walls. It features a small window where someone can talk to people outside or enjoy the morning light.
The large communal space nearby is under a peaked ceiling and has walls made of glass.
This design lets you see the mountains outside and fills the room with light.
The floors are made of light-colored wood, which looks nice with the slightly darker wood on the ceilings and beams.
The beautiful bathroom is like a spa and has a big bathtub and a glass-enclosed shower.
It features dark tiles and dark wood storage spaces, including a big closet for linens.
Opposite the tub, there’s a shallow sink and a modern faucet on a simple vanity.
The ceiling has wood panels with built-in lights that give the room a dark, cozy feel, and there’s just one small window.
