Just 30 minutes from Quebec, Repère Boréal feels like a whole different world in the Charlevoix mountains.
Two brothers started this eco-friendly resort. It has a group of small cabins that bring people close to nature.
One of the cutest cabins at the resort is called Mashk. It has a big wall of windows and a spacious deck on the roof where you can see the beautiful views.
“Mashk” means “bear” in Innu, the local language. Guests might even spot a black bear from the nearby Quebec forest during their visit.

Inside, there’s a big glass wall that goes up two floors to the loft upstairs.
Since the back of the house faces only the forest, people can enjoy the sunlight, views, and stars while still having privacy.
There is a seating area with a futon that two people can sleep on and a green throw rug.
A beautiful staircase with wood and steel railings goes up to the second floor.

Right next to the seating area, there’s a dining table that folds down and can be made bigger to fit a group.
The room has stylish egg chairs from the mid-century modern era, a hanging light with an Edison bulb, and smooth concrete floors.
The loft on the second floor has ceilings with beams showing, which gives it a farmhouse style.

The kitchen is small but has everything you need to cook.
There are open shelves above the butcher block countertop where you can find a toaster, toaster oven, dishes, and glasses.
Below, the black cabinets have simple, modern handles that match the look of the house.
There’s a full-sized refrigerator, a cooking plate, and an extra butcher block island to make preparing food easy.

Upstairs, there’s a bed frame made by hand that holds a queen-sized mattress.
A glass barrier keeps it safe without hiding the view from the large windows.
The bed is covered in soft white linens that have a modern farmhouse style.
The white ceilings with visible beams add to the farmhouse feel.

To make the spa experience complete, there’s a walk-in shower with a big rain showerhead.
The shower has glossy black tiles that look striking next to the all-white sink and vanity.
The sink and shower have sleek nickel handles that add a modern touch.
The bathroom has its own toilet, and there are more facilities in the main building, just a short walk away.

Outside, stairs lead up to a rooftop terrace. There’s a comfortable sofa and a small picnic table there.
A glass barrier with a black iron railing matches the modern style of the outside.

In the yard, there’s a fire pit with colorful Adirondack chairs and a big picnic table.
Guests can also visit the communal spa area, which has hot baths, a barrel sauna, and an outdoor cold shower when it’s warm.
