8 friends built their own tiny neighborhood. Take a look inside

Sharing is caring!

Imagine you and your friends could buy land together and build your own houses next to each other.

Would you do it? That’s just what four couples, who have been friends for 20 years, decided to do.

They all loved nature and agreed to pool their money to buy land for vacation homes.

They found the perfect spot just an hour’s drive from Austin, Texas, where they usually live.

They called their little neighborhood “Llano Exit Strategy” or “Bestie Row.”

They wanted their homes to be good for the environment. Each house has a special roof that collects rainwater.

This water helps grow the local grass and wildflowers around their home.

During the summer, the houses use corrugated steel on the outside to keep them cool.

The windows are also insulated to help control the temperature.

The big windows on one side of each room let in lots of sunlight during the day.

Anyone in the room can enjoy a clear view of the outdoors.

In fact, from each cabin, you can see the nearby Llano River without anything blocking the view.

Inside, there’s a large bookshelf with lots of space for books. There’s also a long wooden plank against the wall that is used as a table.

Underneath the table, there are cubbyholes for storing things.

The sleeping area is big enough for a couch next to the bed, where you can relax before sleeping. There are also two long wooden chairs for extra seating.

The walls are covered with grained plywood, which makes them look simple and clean. The wood also makes the room feel warm and cozy.

The bathroom has a white rectangular sink and a regular toilet. The walls are covered with mostly gray tiles, with some black tiles for decoration.

There are baskets under the sink for decoration and storage, and several rods to hang towels on.

Architect Matt Garcia designed the cabins. Inspired by the popular trend of tiny homes, each cabin is about 400 square feet.

Each cabin has everything needed on its own, including a porch, a small kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

There is also a big shared area that’s 1,500 square feet where everyone can meet and have guests.

This common area has a living room, a large kitchen, a dining room, and a guest bedroom.

Jodi Zipp, one of the best friends, told the Daily Mail that living so close to the Llano River on Bestie Row feels “like a Disney movie.”

She said it shows that, just like Walt Disney said, dreams really can come true.
