Sharing is caring!

Alex and Kae live full-time in a bus they call Tree with their two pit bulls, Kaya and Bubba.

They moved into Tree on the same day they bought it, about a year and a half ago.

They live in California but often take trips around the country in Tree. When they aren’t traveling, Kae thinks of new projects for their home, and Alex helps her with them.

Tree is a 2007 Ford E-450 bus. It used to be white, but Alex and Kae painted it

Botanical Green using a spray painter, which made the job easier.

When you live in a bus, you need to use every bit of space wisely, and that’s what Alex and Kae did.

Their bus has all the essentials, plus a few extras. They love wood, and you can see it in the ceiling, walls, floor, and even the furniture and decorations inside their home.

Nature is also a big part of their home. Kae found a branch during a hike on her birthday, and it’s not just for decoration—it was also used to test the stain for the countertop.

Adding unique and fun items to your home is a great way to show your personality.

For example, their mushroom stool fits the same style you can find in Kae’s shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/NomadicNoveltiesCo.

Friends helped Kae repurpose an old dresser she got from Mexico to use as the base for the kitchen workspace.

Instead of a regular stainless steel sink, they chose a solid copper one.

The faucet has two spigots—one for water from a reverse osmosis filter and the other for filtered tap water. They cook their meals on a 17-inch stove.

The wood theme continues in the house with a special find—a hand-carved vintage drawer made from recycled wood from India.

This drawer holds the couple’s clothes and other items.

A large part of the back of the bus is used for the sleeping area. Windows let Alex and Kae enjoy the view while relaxing in this space.

Alex often finds movies for them to watch, while Kae works on her art projects.

Kae’s creativity is seen all around the house, including when they decided what to do with a hatchet.

After discussing ideas with Alex, they chose to paint it with a nature theme.
