Tiny homes are becoming more popular as a way to live in a way that helps the planet. These small houses are loved by people all over the world.
Many families are trying this lifestyle by living in vans or buses turned into cozy and cool homes. The YouTube channel Tiny House Giant Journey shows many of these tiny homes from different cities.
A tiny home from Enumclaw, Washington
Cassimiro Mattioada owns and built this beautiful, useful tiny home.
Cass’s house is a perfect example of a creative tiny home.
He built everything himself, from the trailer it rests on to the walls and roof, using mostly recycled materials. It’s amazing!
Cutting costs with upcycled materials
Cass spent three years building his dream home and only spent $40,000 because he used recycled materials.
He works in the family business, Enumclaw Recyclers & The Use Again Store. Their goal is to greatly reduce the amount of recyclable materials that end up in landfills every day.
Cass lives by this mission by reusing many items in his tiny house.
Many viewers commented on the video, saying this tiny home is a work of art because everything was carefully planned and beautifully made.
Enough from the introduction, though.
Let’s take the tour!
The living room has a special spot for watching TV with an adjustable television. There’s also a sofa with storage space underneath.
In the kitchen, you’ll find small appliances that fit perfectly. The kitchen is roomy, with an old but stylish sink and faucet.
Cass chose to put the shower and toilet in separate rooms, which is a smart and practical choice for a tiny home.
Then there’s the bedroom.
The bedroom has a queen-size bed with storage underneath. It also has a glass door that you can walk through.
An adorable entrance
The main door is a big feature of this house.
Does this door look familiar? It’s round, just like the doors in the movies “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit.”
Cass built this door himself. He used a lot of steel inside and stained fir and birch plywood outside.
The door also has a cute key!
Cass highlighted in the interview the 3 entries of his home.
Let’s tackle them one by one
First, the front door leads you into the living room, which has a glass window on the other side.
The “mud room”
There’s another door on the left side of the home, where you can see tree trunks used as posts.
Cass often uses this door to come in and clean up after work.
Bedroom entry from the outside
Another way to enter is through the bedroom, where Cass installed a glass door to let the breeze in.
Inside the home, you’ll find many treasures like the great design, how well the space works, and all the unique items that fit together perfectly.
The takeaway?
Cass’s personality shines through in his tiny house.
His girlfriend Emma said, “The house really shows who he is and how he views the world.”
Now, Cass and Emma live together in this beautiful tiny home, filled with many stories and dreams.
