Shaun and Alaina bought an Airstream four years ago, thinking they would only make a few small changes.
But they quickly found out that it needed a lot of work. It took them two and a half years to finish everything.
They shared their journey on their YouTube channel, Our Airstream Adventure, showing how they turned the Airstream into a cozy home.
First, they tore down the inside. They removed the wall panels, insulation, and sub-floor.
Then, they checked the frame to make sure it was still strong and had some parts reinforced.
A professional came and set up the electricity in just one day. The couple then sealed and insulated the vehicle.
When everything was finished, Shaun, Alaina, and their four dogs moved into the Airstream to live there all the time.
Shaun and Alaina have a home they call Maddie, which is a 1970 Airstream Sovereign.
They travel all over the country with Maddie and share their adventures on Instagram.
Alaina has a unique workspace inside Maddie. She uses a simple wooden board set on top of the kitchen cabinets as her desk.
This shows you don’t have to sit at a traditional desk to work on your computer.
This dining table is perfect for two people to enjoy a cozy breakfast or a romantic dinner.
It’s made from a slab of a burned Larch tree and can be moved around in several ways.
Shaun and Alaina chose to keep the natural flaws in the wood, giving the table a charming, rustic look.
The sink is deep, offering lots of room to wash dishes. Shaun made the butcher block countertops himself.
Plates and eating utensils are neatly stored inside the cabinets.
The sleeping area is at one end of the home and has a large mattress that takes up most of the space.
A window behind the bed lets sunlight come through thin curtains during the day.
The bathroom is mostly white, which makes it feel calm and peaceful.
A sliding barn door separates the bathroom from the rest of the house, giving complete privacy.
From the freestanding bathtub, you can look out the window and enjoy the view outside.
