In 2019, Jamie and Jerry Rea from Maryland chose to sell their regular home and move into a small 250-square-foot trailer called an Airstream.
They now travel all over the country with their dog, Bear, and park wherever they like to enjoy their surroundings.
They bought their Airstream from Colonial Airstream. It didn’t need much fixing up, but they’ve made some small custom changes and added simple decorations to make it feel like their own.
Now, Jamie and Jerry are excited because they’re going to have a baby, adding another traveler to their family.
At the front of the Airstream, there’s a big sofa with a simple white cover that matches the plain curtains.
Jamie decorates the area with light seasonal decorations so it doesn’t feel too crowded in their small home.
The best thing about this space is the large windows that let them see the beautiful views outside.
There’s a built-in table and bench that serve as both a place to eat and a workspace, located across from the kitchen.
A flat-screen TV is mounted above the seating area so Jamie and Jerry can watch TV from the table, sofa, or even the kitchen.
The kitchen is small but has everything they need, including an oven, stovetop, and sink.
Two small windows above the sink bring in light and views. The cabinets match the dark espresso-colored walls to create a smooth look.
Above the stove, there’s a cutting board from Maryland, a wedding gift that reminds them of their old home in Baltimore.
The bathroom and shower are next to the hallway that goes to the bedroom. In the bedroom, there are more windows under storage spaces.
A skylight above the bed lets Jamie and Jerry fall asleep under the stars and wake up to the morning sunlight.
The Airstream will soon be home to a family of three! As they get ready for their new baby, Jerry made a stand for the baby’s bassinet in a little nursery area next to their bed.
A simple mobile hangs over the bassinet, and a pretty picture from Brightside Boutique adds a nice touch to the space.
The bathroom is small but it works well. It has a sink and lots of outlets. Jamie loves living in a smaller space because it’s so easy to keep clean!
