Alex made a brave choice when she decided to buy a camper from Craigslist without seeing any pictures first.
Her friend drove five hours to get the camper for her. Alex, her husband Jon, and their friends worked together to make the camper into a cozy home.
When decorating their new home, Alex and Jon thought about the places they visited in the West.
Alex says, “The colors red and orange and the desert feel come from our favorite states like Utah, Arizona, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
The greens, wood, and pops of blue were inspired by Glacier National Park in Montana and some areas in Oregon and Washington.”
Now, Alex and Jon love living in their 240 square-foot space.
The living area has a big, L-shaped couch that’s gray. This couch is the main part of the room.
There are several pillows in cream and red colors on the couch. A small plant hangs in a wicker basket, and another big, leafy plant sits in a clay pot next to the couch.
These plants make the room feel fresh and green. The floor has wood-like laminate and is covered by a red rug with patterns.
This rug helps separate this area from the rest of the house.
There’s a strong, rectangular dining table against the wall at one end of the couch.
The table has a long runner and a ceramic bowl with silver edges on a round tray, adding a special touch.
Two wood chairs with metal legs fit nicely at the table. A big window by the table lets the couple see the plants outside.
Changing the table accessories quickly turns the dining area into an office space.
There’s enough room for two people to work together. A pot of coffee and a mug make the space feel warm and cozy.
A green plant called mother-in-law’s tongue sits in a pot at one corner of the table, adding some greenery.
The kitchen is mostly white and has everything needed to make tasty meals.
The backsplash has a black-and-white pattern that looks elegant, and the wooden countertop has a rustic feel.
On one side of the kitchen, there are bags hanging on the wall. These bags hold fresh fruits and vegetables.
Inside the camper, there’s a wooden bench with a mattress on top that offers another place to sit.
Two wooden side tables next to the bench hold various items and provide extra storage.
A rectangular window with softly rounded corners lets people inside enjoy the view outside.
The bedroom has a bed, a few pillows, and a blanket, which are all you need for a good night’s sleep.
This room is very comfortable. There are two wooden geometric pieces hanging on the wall above the bed, making the room look interesting.
An open shelf above the bed holds two wicker baskets. These baskets can store extra blankets or cozy socks and slippers.
