This little house has a bright red outside, and it really stands out from the others.
Robbie Hendricks, who handles marketing for Modern Tiny Living, talks about the house named “Chicamacomico.”
He says, “Chicamacomico was named after a life-saving station in Rodanthe, North Carolina.
I used to visit the Outer Banks in North Carolina when I was young, and I always liked the name Chicamacomico.
Since we were sending this home to North Carolina, we decided to use the name.”
The house is 20 feet long and 8 1/2 feet high. It’s based on the company’s popular Mohican design.
Although it’s small, it’s a cozy and simple tiny house. It took the team eight weeks to build it.

The outside of the house looks like it’s made of wood, but it’s not. It’s actually made from a very tough material called LP SmartSide.
Inside, the walls are covered with poplar shiplap.

There’s a special couch that has storage space under the seat and can turn into a full-size bed.
Big windows let in lots of sunlight, making the house feel big and airy. The stairs to the loft are made of maple wood.

In the kitchen, the first thing you notice is the bright red cabinets. Right after that, you see the sleek stainless steel countertop that goes all the way to the kitchen sink.
A matte black faucet adds a modern touch. Above the countertop, there are two big rectangular glass windows that let you see outside beautifully.

There’s a clever hidden spot behind a sliding red shelf. It’s a small closet with a long silver rod perfect for hanging clothes like coats, suits, and dresses.

Modern Tiny Living is known for using a barn door as the bathroom entrance.
Robbie Hendricks says, “We’ve built almost 80 homes, and almost all of them have a barn door for the bathroom.”
Inside the bathroom, there’s a regular toilet and a fiberglass shower with a water-saving shower head.

In the loft, there’s a big king-size bed, but there’s still enough space for things like reading or just relaxing.
A single long red shelf sticks out from the white wall, matching other red details around the house.
The worn-looking floor is another key part of the house’s charming style.
