Three friends who loved freedom and adventure started their own company called Modern Tiny Living.
Trent, Daniel, and Robbie, the founders, have grown their team by adding a tiny home expert, an architect, and a tiny home designer.
This Ohio-based company also teams up with local artisans to build houses that are not only strong but also pretty.
Their website states that the team wants “to build beautiful homes, homes that can match or even be better than a big 3000 square foot house.”
They keep their promise with the Mohican model. This home is built on a 20-foot trailer and uses the space very well.
It has everything a regular house would have and is beautifully decorated in white.
Just one look at the Mohican and you can tell it’s made from the best materials.
The outer walls are pine, the edges are cedar, and the inside walls are poplar.
It has Andersen double-pane windows that let in lots of light and keep energy use down.
The metal roof can last up to 40 years. The walls, ceilings, and floors have three inches of closed-cell foam insulation to make the house extra strong.
In the living room, there’s a medium-sized couch on one side. Next to the couch, open shelves offer a place to show off books and small treasures.
A potted plant on top of a cabinet adds a touch of green. Windows next to and behind the couch bring in sunlight and provide a great view outside.
Cooking is easy on the brown maple butcher block counter that comes with a removable sink cutting board.
You can cook multiple dishes at the same time on the three-burner propane stove.
Washing dishes is quick in the large farmer sink.
The 9.9 cubic foot refrigerator has plenty of space for meat, dairy, and produce.
When you walk through the barn door into Modern Tiny Living’s signature bathroom, you’ll see the stylish Nature’s Head composting toilet right away.
Next to it, there’s a small but effective sink with a side faucet. The shower is a simple 32-by-32 space, but it has everything you need.
In a tiny home, using every bit of space is very important.
The first four steps of the stairs to the loft have two uses: they help you get to the loft and also give you storage space in the built-in cubbies.
The 70 square foot loft is a great place to relax after a busy day. There’s a big mattress right on the floor.
Cabinets on one side of the loft are perfect for storing extra pillows and blankets.
A fuzzy white rug on the floor makes the space feel cozy.
