Check out how this couple lives in a 100-square-foot bus

Sharing is caring!

Alyssa and Dan are a fun-loving couple who live in their transformed school bus, named Lucky.

Their 22-foot Ford bus is built to let them live on their own, without needing to connect to power grids, while they travel across the country.

Lucky is sponsored by 84 Lumber and Renogy Solar, helping the couple use every bit of their small space wisely.

Alyssa and Dan share their adventures and how they manage in just 100 square feet on their Instagram and YouTube channels.

Alyssa and Dan replaced the bus’s side door with one from a mobile home.

This new door makes the bus feel more like a home, saves energy, and has a convenient keyless entry.

Right inside, there’s a small area with a space to keep muddy shoes.

They put water-resistant bamboo flooring all over the bus. Near the entrance, there’s storage for food and other dry items.

A wall made of poplar wood makes the inside warm and cozy, but still lets in plenty of light and doesn’t block the views outside.

In the living room, the sofa has hidden storage spaces for laptops and cords because Alyssa and Dan work from the road.

The footrest opens up to create a small work area. They use a portable folding table by the couch for eating instead of a fixed dining table.

In the kitchen, there’s an Avanti fridge and freezer that can hold a lot of food.

It has a butcher-block countertop with a sink that has a special cutting board to cover dirty dishes and give more room for food prep.

The kitchen also has a toaster oven, microwave, and an electric stove that are stored underneath when not in use.

Behind the kitchen, there are two doors. The door on the right opens to a wet bath with a working shower and a Nature’s Head Composting Toilet.

It has stylish corrugated tin walls. The door on the left leads to the couple’s closet.

This closet has space to hang clothes, storage above, and six drawers. It also hides the 60-amp Commander solar battery that powers their home.

In the bedroom, there’s a custom headboard made by 84 Lumber. It shows the Lucky Bus logo and hides extra storage.

The room has a mini split unit for heating and cooling. There’s also a TV on a swivel stand.

Next to the bed, there’s more storage and Alyssa’s vanity where she gets ready each day.

The bedroom has an emergency exit door that opens to bring in light and show the view outside.

The TV is mounted on a swivel, so it can swing out too. This way, Alyssa and Dan can invite friends over to watch movies or football games from outside.
