Hayley and Brad wanted a vacation home that could take them on many adventures.
They chose to buy a 1970s vintage camper and transform it into their dream space.
As they worked, they learned how to do everything they needed. First, they completely stripped down the camper.
Next, they made the camper waterproof again by resealing the outside.
Then, Hayley painted it with Behr Ultra paint and primer from Home Depot.
She chose a color-blocked design in mint and white. They kept the original aluminum trim to keep the vintage charm of the camper.

Hayley and Brad named their camper “The Dog House” because of their dogs, Duke and Keela.
They love that their camper lets them travel with their dogs as a family.
Hayley shared on Instagram, “We picked the name because our life is all about our dogs, so it fits well.”
The main area inside the camper has a cozy seating corner with a handmade table that folds down.
They painted the storage area under the seats white and put new covers on the old cushions.
They also added custom tiles for a bit of fun design on the floor. For the rest of the flooring, they chose a light, wood-like laminate that looks like ash wood.
Hayley added a special touch to the dining table by creating a chevron pattern with pieces of two-by-four wood.
For the walls, they made triangular patterns with tape that they left unpainted to show the natural wood.
They also added throw pillows, plants, and textured placemats to make it feel more like home.
In the kitchen, Hayley painted the old cabinets white to make them look modern.
They cleaned the stovetop with vinegar to get rid of old dirt and then painted it to freshen it up.
They also put in a butcher block countertop as a budget-friendly way to improve the old laminate.
Next to the kitchen, Hayley and Brad have a cozy sleeping area with storage above for clothes.
Colorful geometric throw pillows brighten up the neutral bed linens. Fringe, sisal, and embroidery add a bohemian style to the space.
