A family of 6 travels full-time in this renovated bus. Take a tour

Sharing is caring!

Whitney is a photographer who shares her life on the Instagram account @cedarbendtravels.

She travels full-time with her husband and their four small children.

They live in a renovated MCI bus, which used to be a 55-passenger coach. The couple turned the bus into their tiny moving home.

They got rid of about a third of their stuff to do this. Whitney believes that traveling like this gives her children a sense of home and freedom.

When you step onto the bus, you’ll see the driver’s seat and two captain’s chairs.

These chairs are where the parents and older kids sit.

Right past the entrance, there’s a big sofa that turns into a bed for guests.

This sofa is in a cozy living area across from a large-screen TV and a built-in fireplace.

The family chose an L-shaped kitchen with plenty of overhead storage for pots, pans, dishes, and food.

The kitchen has a stove, dishwasher, a smaller refrigerator, and a big sink with a cover. It has everything they need to feel at home.

Overhead twinkle lights and big windows make the space bright and open, and everything is painted in clean white colors.

Behind the kitchen, there’s a hallway leading to a small room. This room is both a play area for toys and a space for the family dogs when they’re traveling.

Further down, there’s a bathroom with a bathtub and shower combination, a sink, and a composting toilet.

Whitney likes to change things up inside. She recently painted the bathroom to match new towels from Target.

She also uses silhouettes of the children as unique hooks for the towels.

Behind the bathroom, there are sleeping bunks where the three oldest children sleep.

Each child has their own bunk, complete with hanging baskets for books and toys.

Each bunk is 6 feet by 3 feet, which is the usual size for RV beds. The children have curtains for privacy and their own lamps to read by before bed.

At the back of the bus, the master bedroom has a king-sized bed. There’s a lot of storage space overhead and a built-in closet.

Above the bed, there’s a mini split heater and air conditioner for keeping the room comfortable. There’s another one like it at the front of the bus.
