Are you thinking about buying a campervan that’s both useful and fancy? Now is a great time to get one! With campsites opening up again and many people planning to vacation close to home, you can start your adventures soon.
I’ve turned this VW Crafter into a top-notch camper for all my travels. It has a special design that lets three adults sleep comfortably—one even on the floor! Plus, it has plenty of room for all your adventure gear.
The front seats have custom waterproof covers, so they won’t get dirty, no matter what. Love surfing? I’ve fit three longboards and three shortboards in here at once, thanks to a clever table that folds away.
Into biking? You can easily store three bikes in the back (you’ll need to take the front wheels off), and maybe even a fourth. The back area is waterproof and easy to clean, so no stress about muddy or wet equipment spoiling the fun.
There’s also a hose in the back to clean off anything super dirty. I recommend using the Worx cordless pressure washer with it—it’s a great match.
If you have something too big to fit inside, just use the long roof rack on top. Just watch out for the solar panel! The dining area fits two people, and the bed is high enough that more can sit up there comfortably—perfect for hanging out.
You’ll find a 24-inch TV with an aerial and a DVD player for watching movies, plus different lights to set the mood. The kitchen has a double gas stove and a big sink set in a beautiful oak counter, with an aluminum heat guard and tiles to protect the walls.
There’s a fridge and lots of storage space all over. And there’s even a hidden portable toilet. The table folds up for a nice place to eat and play games.
The van runs on solar power and stores all electricity in a 130aH battery. There’s room for an extra battery in the battery box, but I’ve never needed one. You’ll find plenty of charging points inside the van, both in the front and back.
It has a 1000W pure sine inverter that works great for powering big appliances, with outlets in the front and back. Don’t worry if it sounds complicated; the van comes with an information pack that explains how to use everything safely.
Don’t be nervous about driving a big van either; it has reverse parking sensors and blind spot mirrors to help you. The van is well insulated, with materials in the walls, ceiling, and floor to keep it warm.
It also has heated flooring for extra warmth on cold nights. Safety is taken care of with a carbon monoxide alarm, two fire alarms, and a fire blanket.
The van has around 136,000 miles and has been well-maintained throughout its life. It has effective air conditioning and is currently registered with a valid MOT until January 2021. The 2.5 engine is known for being very reliable.
We’ve recently checked and updated parts of the engine, so it’s ready to go for many more years. The paint is in good condition for its age.
The only small issue is with the steering solenoid, which requires a firm wiggle of the wheel when starting the van, but it’s a minor problem that hasn’t been fixed because it’s not a big deal.
