At first, we were surprised by this request, but as we worked on the design, we became more excited. Our client, Jenn James, is sweet and imaginative. She wanted to build a unique tiny house like no other.

The house’s design, from the outside to the inside, was completely new to us. Despite its unusual design choices, we loved it more with each step.
Design
Jenn wanted her house to feel like a fantasy. We used bright, mystical colors and unusual materials to make that happen. In the kitchen, we chose purple cabinets and colorful, sparkly tiles. We also added a granite countertop with a rough edge to make a bold statement.

On the right side of the kitchen, there’s an open space except for a corner fireplace with a black chimney that you can see. After setting up the house late one night, we lit the fireplace and dimmed the lights. It was one of the coziest places we’ve ever made.
On the other side of the kitchen is the bathroom, which looks like it’s from a castle. It has slate tiles on the floors and walls and an arched area for the sink, making it feel like a fairytale. The best part is the copper clawfoot tub, which makes this one of our favorite bathrooms.

We needed a special way to get to her master loft, so we chose a spiral staircase. It’s finished with arched windows, a skylight, and a railing made from local twigs. This loft truly captures a whimsical feel.
The outside of Jenn’s house was very important to her. She wanted it to look like you were stepping back in time. We looked at many architectural styles but chose the Tudor style because it suited the house perfectly.
