The tiny house Astrild has two mezzanine levels to fit a small family in two separate rooms. The parents’ bedroom is upstairs, reached by a staircase that includes storage space.

There’s a bed that’s 150×200 cm and a cupboard for clothes. Across from this, a ladder leads to the child’s room. Both sleeping areas have wooden railings for safety.
Downstairs is the living room, which features a table with oak and spruce tops and a large sofa by the windows. There’s also a long bookshelf above. The kitchen is big and well-equipped, with a large window that lets in plenty of light between the two mezzanines.

A wood stove on the wall heats the house during winter.
The bathroom has a dry toilet with a stainless steel bucket and a compartment for chips, plus a shower that is 80×80 cm. Outside, there are shelves built into the wall under the big window for growing herbs.

The tiny house Astrild is near Besançon and is home to Celine, her partner, and their daughter. The house was built by Baluchon.
