We are Adam and Rachel, and we live in a school bus named Luna. We chose to live in a small, simple way because we wanted to make our lives easier.
I used to run a home theater installation business for nine years. After five years, I realized that the job wasn’t making me happy anymore.
So, how did we change things? We cut our bills and changed our lifestyle. That’s how we started living in a bus. We discovered this tiny bus life together.

I don’t remember exactly when we decided, but we both agreed that it was the best thing for us. It marked the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.
We chose a bus because it let us have our home and vehicle in one. We have five pets, and they didn’t choose this life, so we made sure to build a comfortable space for them too.

We put in carpet and a cat tree. They are coming along with us, and we want them to be as comfortable as possible and enjoy their bus life too.
It took us 11 months to build our bus home, even though we initially planned to finish it in six months. Building a bus is tough because it has curved roofs and nothing is square. We had to custom-make everything, which doubled the time we thought it would take.

We planned the bus by thinking about what our pets needed first and then figuring out where we fit in. That’s why our floor plan turned out the way it did. In total, we spent about $30,000 on our entire home.

I don’t know anywhere else you can spend $30,000 and get a whole house that you can also drive. My favorite part of bus life is seeing so many different places.

There are many spots in the country that we could not have visited so easily without our bus. We can park anywhere, travel anywhere, and if we get tired of a place, we just move. Home is wherever we park.
