Rebecca designed the Keva Tiny House to be 22 feet long, 8.5 feet wide, and 15 feet tall, which is taller than most tiny homes. It features an open living area, a clever hideaway ladder, a covered porch, and an outdoor toilet.
The house is beautifully crafted with wood from top to bottom and cost about $55,000 CAD to build. This total includes $30,000 for materials and $25,000 for labor.
The house is warmed by a wood stove and includes a small bathtub and shower. There’s a big storage space for clothes in the bathroom. Next to the house, there’s a small shed with more storage and a guest bed.

Rebecca uses an outhouse for the toilet. She was fortunate to find people who let her park her tiny house on their land. In return, she pays rent or works for them.

Hello! My name is Rebecca. I had my tiny house built in 2014 and I’ve been living in it ever since. I wanted my own place for financial freedom and to have a home I could always return to. Renting a home in the southern Gulf Islands was too expensive for me.

I also love designing things, so building this house was a way to show my creativity. I am very thankful to Rudy Hexter and everyone else who helped build and share this project with me.
