This lovely family home, called the South Coast Container House, is made from four shipping containers. It’s built in a way that’s good for the environment and has extra space for family activities.
The house is 1000 square feet in total and can sleep 10 people. It has a main part that is 915 square feet, and there’s a smaller sleeping area of 161 square feet, made from one 20-foot shipping container.
Homeowner Simon shows us around his house, which is made from shipping containers. He points out the cool parts like the visible containers and the walls that are specially insulated to keep the house warm or cool. The house also has many features that are good for the environment.
Architect Matt Elkan designed the home to be efficient and cost-effective. The goal was to use shipping containers to build a great family home that is healthy to live in and doesn’t cost too much.
