Marjolaine and Alex are a very nice couple from Canada who decided to travel from Canada to Panama and back in one year. They bought a 2018 Ford Transit van and turned it into a home on wheels in just three months.
What’s special about their van is that they didn’t want to use propane because the van is small. Instead, they installed two 270 Watt solar panels on the roof, two 250 amp hour batteries, and a 3000 Watt power inverter. This setup lets them use electricity for everything in the van.
Marjolaine and Alex equipped their van with an electric hot water heater, an induction cooktop, LED lights, and a 12-volt fridge. They created lots of storage space under their benches, above the countertops, and even added a closet for hanging clothes.
One unique feature in their van is the indoor hot water shower, which is not common in many vans. They also installed a cassette toilet that can be removed when they need to use the shower.
