This place was empty for ten years and nobody used it. Then, three years ago, 26-year-old Annie Mackinder found it. She bought it for £20,000, even though it was just a hole in the ground.
Annie did a lot of research and worked closely with the local council for a year. Her hard work paid off two years later. The inside of the house looks fancy and expensive, but it was made on a tight budget.

On the top floor, there is a big bedroom with its own bathroom. There’s also an amazing open area with a kitchen and living space. Annie designed the whole house herself, from the roof down to the lights. This saved her a lot of money because she didn’t have to pay an architect.

All the systems in Annie’s house are eco-friendly. She uses a soak-away system and an air-source heat pump to heat the house.
